What do you hear more often: “market” or “audience”? And what’s the difference?
I increasingly hear clients talk about their “target audience.
” And I notice that this is especially the case when working with marketing professionals (as opposed to other market research and insights peers). The truth is, some people do use the terms interchangeably.
But to be precise, there is a difference. Does that mean I correct people? Nope. But I do try to be precise in my own speech, and I also know if I hear a phrase like “target audience”, I may need to ask some questions to clarify.
