Market Research & Insights professionals face a dilemma in social situations: how do you answer the question, “What do you do?” Do you state your “profession” or your job title? And if you tend to state your profession, how do you refer to it? Might you say, “I’m in market research”, or maybe “I study consumer behavior”, or something else? In this short video, I share my experience in these situations (including when I recently walked into a bar), and pose some questions about how to introduce ourselves when some of the conventional references seem to fall flat.
